Open-Cell Spray Polyurethane Foam

Open cell foam is full of cells that aren’t completely encapsulated. In other words, the cells are deliberatly left open. This makes the foam a softer, more flexible material. The liquid system is two components with A side ISO and B side POLYOL which combined during a chemical reaction to form SPF.

Part A (ISO) : 250kg/drum
Part B (POLYOL) : 200kg/drum

Benefits and Features of Open-cell Spray Polyurethane Foam, compared with closed cell SPF :
Thermal Performance R-Value at 3.5 per inch
• Air barrier at full wall thickness
• Proper strength and Flexibility
• Absorbs sound very well
• Lower density (0.4 — 1.2 lbs./ft3)
Open cell PU spray foam is suitable for application to most construction materials including but not limited to wood, masonry, concrete, and metal. It is mostly applied to the internal insulation of buildings where the temperature difference between outdoor and indoor is not very large. Open cell SPF is applied for sound insulation and protective materials for fragile items in transit.

Protective foam packaging can be produced directly at the packing station and placed into the carton. As the foam expands it moulds to the contours of the product and encapsulates it in a highly versatile packaging medium. It is available in a range of strengths to suit a product’s weight and fragility. This system is an ‘on demand’ packaging solution that, when the two components mix together, will expand up to 150 to 250 times their liquid volume negating the necessity for large storage area’s required for pre-fabricated packaging.
